Want to be a One Day City writer, and brag on your city?
One Day City is based on the premise that we’re all six degrees of separation apart from each other. When one person writes about their city, they are responsible for passing the blog to two more people in other cities.
Haven’t gotten an invite? You can reach out to us at onedaycityblog@gmail.com. If you do reach out and are not invited from someone you know, you must pass the blog to five people to keep the ODC network going.
Got the invite, but don’t know where to start? We have some pointers for you!
- Your post must include Morning, Afternoon, and Night sections. I recommend breaking it up roughly hourly and including at least one of your own photos for each section, but up to you!
2. Include your own personal pictures of the places you are referencing. We love seeing you enjoying the places and spaces you’re recommending to preserve the authenticity of ODC! If you don’t have your own picture, you can send in another picture, just provide a link to where you got it, so we can give credit.
3. Include 5 facts about yourself and a photo, so we can add a quick bio to the side of your post. Facts include:
- First name, last initial
- City
- Age
- Fun Fact (Pick one): One quote that best describes who you are. Favorite ice cream flavor. Favorite song. Three words to describe yourself. Favorite author.
- Next place you’re going to explore in your city.
4. Provides tags that describe the content of your post. Current tags include: Outdoorsy, Artsy, Nightlife, Foodie, Crafty, Shopping, Historic. If you have another recommendation for a tag, send it our way!
5. Once you’ve written your post, e-mail it to onedaycityblog@gmail.com. Attach all photos and reference where they should be placed within your post.
